An avatar of you or your presenter, made from a short video and voice recording with their signed consent. It works with the API and with voice agents, and costs the same per minute as any other avatar.
Removes the small “Powered by Talking Avatar” from avatar video, and the link on voice agent share pages and embeds. It renews monthly; if the subscription ends, the watermark returns.
All of these are on the dashboard's Billing page. We also email you when your balance runs low, at most once a day.
Billed per second
Time is never rounded up to the minute. Each session's cost appears on the Usage page, to four decimal places.
Prepaid credits
Add $5 to $1,000 at a time by card. Sessions and calls draw from your balance, and stop when it runs out.
Optional monthly spending limit
A hard cap from $1 to $100,000 a month. When you reach it, sessions and calls stop, including ones in progress, until the 1st of next month (UTC).
Auto top-up, off by default
It stays off unless you turn it on. You choose when it tops up and by how much, and can switch it off at any time.
Limits on every voice agent
Each agent has a maximum call length, from 1 to 60 minutes, and each caller can start only a limited number of calls an hour and a day.
No commitments
No subscription, seats, tiers, minimums or setup fees. The price is the same at any volume, and commercial use is included.
How the price compares: checked on each vendor's own pricing page in October 2026, real-time avatar APIs where you bring the voice agent mostly cost $0.01 to $0.22 a minute, and managed agents that include speech recognition, an LLM and a voice cost $0.11 to $0.56. Some cost less than $0.02 at steady volume on a monthly plan; Realistic Avatars has no plan to buy.
Talking Avatar Realistic Avatars cost $0.02 a minute and Talking Avatar Voice Agents cost $0.06 a minute, both billed per second from prepaid credits with no subscription. Talking Avatar Open Source is free (MIT). A custom avatar is $199 one time, and removing the watermark is $19 a month.
Is there a free trial?+
Yes. Talk to a realistic avatar live for two minutes on the demo page, with no signup. New accounts get $1 of free credits, with no card needed: 50 minutes of avatar time or about 16 minutes of voice agent calls.
Why is one $0.02 a minute and the other $0.06?+
Talking Avatar Realistic Avatars is the face only: your own voice agent or TTS supplies the conversation and the voice. Talking Avatar Voice Agents include the avatar, a realtime AI model, speech recognition and the voice, so there is nothing else to pay for.
When does billing start and stop?+
An API session is billed from the moment the avatar is live until you close it or your server disconnects. A voice agent call is billed from the moment the avatar joins until the call ends; test calls from the dashboard are billed like any other.
Can I cap what I spend?+
Yes. Set an optional monthly spending limit on the Billing page; when you reach it, sessions and calls stop until the next month. Auto top-up is off unless you turn it on, and each voice agent has a maximum call length.
Do I need a subscription?+
No. You pay only for the minutes you use. The one optional subscription is watermark removal, at $19 a month.
Is there a volume discount?+
The self-serve price is the same at any volume, with no tiers, seats or concurrency plans, so a small test and a large rollout cost the same per minute. If you expect more than 50,000 minutes a month, contact us for a custom quote.
How much is a custom avatar?+
$199 per avatar, one time. Send a short video and voice recording with the signed consent of the person on camera. Sessions with it cost the same per minute as any other avatar.
How do I pay?+
By credit or debit card, through Dodo Payments. Taxes are added at checkout where required. Credits are non-refundable and non-transferable, except where the law requires otherwise.
