An AI tutor teaches through conversation: it explains, asks questions, checks understanding and adapts to each learner. With Talking Avatar Realistic Avatars voice agents, you build one from your own lessons in the dashboard, give it a photorealistic face and a voice, and put it on your website. Students talk to it out loud, and you pay $0.06 a minute of conversation, with no subscription.

Who it's for

Built for the way you already teach

  • Language schools

Speaking practice between classes: students talk with a tutor that follows your levels, your lesson steps and your way of correcting mistakes.

  • Online course creators

A tutor for each course that answers questions about your lessons, quizzes students and explains again, in a different way, when they're stuck.

  • Teachers and private tutors

A teaching assistant for homework help and revision, available at any hour, that gives hints before answers so students still do the thinking.

  • Edtech teams

Building your own app? Give your tutor a face through the API instead, for $0.02 a minute, with any voice and LLM you already use.

How it works

From lesson plan to live tutor in an afternoon

  1. 1

    Start from the Tutor template

It's ready to teach: one idea at a time, a short question to check understanding, and a hint before the answer. Sessions last up to 30 minutes by default.

  2. 2

Add your lessons and your method

Write the subject, the level, your lesson steps and how to correct students in the tutor's instructions, up to 20,000 characters. Pick a realistic avatar and a voice.

  3. 3

    Put it on your website

Paste one script tag for a "Talk to your tutor" button, or an iframe inside a lesson page. Most site builders accept it as custom HTML. Or share the tutor's link.

What students and teachers get

A tutor that talks, listens and follows your lesson

  • Real conversations, out loud

Students speak and the tutor answers in a natural voice, with lip sync. Patient turn-taking waits for students to finish their thought, and they can interrupt at any time.

  • Teaches your way

The tutor follows your instructions: what to teach, in which order, how hard to push, when to give the answer and which mistakes to correct.

  • A transcript of every session

Read what each student practised and where they struggled. A post-call webhook can send every transcript to your own system.

  • Your brand, your teacher

Name the tutor after your school. Use a custom avatar of your own teacher for a one-time $199, and remove the "Powered by Talking Avatar" label for $19 a month.

  • Every student at once

Each student talks in their own call, so a whole cohort can practise at the same time. You pay only for the minutes they use.

  • Lesson length you control

End every session after the time you choose, up to 60 minutes, so practice stays focused and costs stay predictable.

FAQ

AI tutor questions

Teaching is one of several things a voice agent can do. See all voice agent use cases.

What is an AI tutor?

An AI tutor is software that teaches through conversation: it explains, asks questions, checks understanding and adapts to the learner. A Talking Avatar tutor does this out loud, with a photorealistic avatar that speaks every reply, so students practise speaking and listening, not just typing.

Can it follow my own curriculum and teaching method?

Yes. You write the tutor's instructions: your subject, level, lesson steps, how to correct mistakes and when to give answers, up to 20,000 characters. That's room for a lesson plan or a unit, not whole books. For a large library, add a tool that fetches the right lesson from your server during the session (this part needs a developer).

Do I need a developer?

No. You build, test and share the tutor in the dashboard. Adding it to your website is one script tag or an iframe, pasted where your site builder accepts custom HTML.

Can it teach in languages other than English?

The AI behind the tutor understands and speaks many languages, and you can tell it which language to use in its instructions. Voices and pronunciation vary by language, so make a free test call in yours before you share the tutor with students.

Can a whole class use it at the same time?

Yes. Each student talks to the tutor in their own call, and there's no subscription tier to upgrade for more students. To protect your balance, each network can start 20 an hour and 60 a day calls with one tutor. If a full classroom will practise together on one school network, contact us first.

How much does an AI tutor cost?

$0.06 a minute of conversation, billed per second, with the avatar, the voice and the AI included. A 30-minute session costs $1.80. New accounts get $1 of free credits to try it, and there's no subscription.

Can the tutor look like my own teacher?

Yes. A custom avatar costs $199 once: send a short video and voice recording, with the signed consent of the person on camera, and pick the avatar in your tutor's settings when it's ready.

Can I see what students practised?

Every session is kept with its full transcript, how long it lasted and why it ended. You can read them in the dashboard, or receive each one on your server with a post-call webhook.
