An AI customer service agent answers customers' questions in a conversation, solves what it can and hands the rest to your team. With Talking Avatar Realistic Avatars voice agents, you build one from the Customer support template, give it a photorealistic face and a voice, and add it to your website as a "Talk to support" button. Customers talk to it out loud, face to face, and a 5-minute conversation costs $0.30, with no subscription.

Who it's for

For the questions your team answers every day

  • Software and SaaS products

Help inside your web app: how-to questions, onboarding and settings, answered out loud while customers look at the screen they're stuck on.

  • Online stores

Shipping times, returns, sizing and order status (the last one through a tool that looks the order up), at any hour.

  • Service businesses

What you offer, what it costs and how to get started, for visitors who would rather ask than read your whole site.

  • Support teams

Repeat questions handled before they reach your inbox, with a transcript of every conversation so your team picks up where the agent stopped.

How it works

From help centre to live support agent in an afternoon

  1. 1

Start from the Customer support template

It's ready to help: one question at a time to understand the problem, answers only from what you give it, and an offer to connect customers with your team when it can't solve something. Calls last up to 10 minutes by default.

  2. 2

    Add what it should know

Write what you sell, the questions customers ask, your policies and your hours, up to 20,000 characters. For live data, add a tool: an endpoint of yours that the agent calls mid-conversation, like an order lookup (this part needs a developer).

  3. 3

    Add it to your website

Paste one script tag for a "Talk to support" button in the corner of every page, or put the agent inside your help centre with an iframe. Most site builders accept either as custom HTML.

Start from the Customer support template
<!-- A "Talk to support" button in the corner of your site -->
<script src="https://app.talking-avatar.dev/embed.js"
  data-agent="YOUR_AGENT_ID"
  data-label="Talk to support" async></script>

Example support instructions, an order lookup tool, and the button for your site. The agent calls your endpoint with the arguments, signed, and your reply (within 10 seconds) is what it tells the customer.

What customers and your team get

Support that answers out loud and knows when to hand off

  • Face-to-face video support

Customers talk to a photorealistic agent who answers in a natural voice, with lip sync. They can interrupt at any time, as they would with a person.

  • Answers only from your facts

It keeps to what you wrote and what your tools return. It never invents prices, policies or order details.

  • Looks things up

Give it up to 20 tools: endpoints of yours for order status, account details or bookings, called mid-conversation and signed so your server can trust them.

  • Hands off cleanly

When it can't solve something, it says so and offers to connect the customer with your team, instead of going in circles.

  • A transcript of every conversation

Each one is kept with how long it lasted and why it ended. A post-call webhook can send every transcript to your own system, for your helpdesk, CRM or follow-ups.

  • In your customers' language

It replies in the language the customer speaks. Voices and pronunciation vary by language, so make a test call in yours first.

Before you start

What it does, and what it doesn't

It does

  • Answers questions about your product, orders, returns, hours and policies, from the facts you give it
  • Looks up live data, like an order's status, through tools that call your own systems
  • Says so when it doesn't know, and offers to connect the customer with your team
  • Sends every transcript to your system when the conversation ends

It doesn't

  • Answer phone calls: customers talk to it on your website or in your web app
  • Make up prices, policies or order details that aren't in its instructions or tools
  • Replace your helpdesk: it doesn't open tickets on its own, but your server can, from the transcript
  • Remember earlier conversations: each call starts fresh

FAQ

AI customer service agent questions

Customer support is one of several things a voice agent can do. See all voice agent use cases.

What is an AI customer service agent?

An AI customer service agent is software that answers customers' questions in a conversation, solves what it can and passes the rest to people. A Talking Avatar support agent does this out loud on your website, with a photorealistic avatar that speaks every reply.

Can it answer phone calls?

No. Talking Avatar Realistic Avatars voice agents work on the web: customers talk to them from your website or web app, in a browser with a microphone. For a phone support line, use a phone voice agent platform.

How does it learn about my product?

You write what it should know in its instructions: your product, common questions, policies and hours, up to 20,000 characters. For information that changes, like order status, add a tool that fetches it from your systems during the conversation.

Can it look up orders or accounts?

Yes, through tools. Each tool is an HTTPS endpoint of yours: the agent sends it the arguments it collected, like an order number, and your reply is what it tells the customer. Requests are signed, and your endpoint has 10 seconds to answer. Setting up a tool needs a developer.

What happens when it can't help?

It says so and offers to connect the customer with your team, for example by taking their email for a follow-up. The post-call webhook sends the transcript to your system, so nobody has to ask the customer again.

How much does an AI customer service agent cost?

$0.06 a minute of conversation, billed per second, with the avatar, the voice and the AI included. A 5-minute conversation costs $0.30. There's no subscription and no fee per resolved conversation.

Does it replace my helpdesk?

No. It answers customers before they write in, and sends you every transcript. Your server can turn those into tickets in the helpdesk you already use.
